[House Extension]

House Extension

The extension was all finished by the end of March (only 3 months) but there was a lot left for us to do inside. This took a while because Mary and I were in a fairly serious car crash so it was a long time before I could even thing about painting walls, hanging light fixtures, etc. It hurt too much to bend backwards. A big thanks to Brian Heneghan, who helped paint the new bedroom, hall, stairs, landing when I was healthy enough. I owe you one Brian - hopefully I can pay you back in kind when you build your own house.

It's slowly coming together. At this stage, all that's missing are the big TV and surround sound system for the new sitting room and built-in storage for our new walk-in wardrobe and utility.

The finished product doesn't look too bad. Here it is from the front:

It didn't always look as good at the back - check out the puddle that would stay for hours after heavy rain. The big teleporter they used buckled the tarmac when it was parked there for a weekend so the water wouldn't flow to the drain. They came back about 14 months after they had finished the extension and dug another drain to soak it up so that's all sorted now.
